How to rent a wheelchair at the mall, step by step
A wheelchair on rent at the mall, with an attendant or on your own, right now or for later — what happens from the moment you book to the moment you hand the chair back.

A big mall is a long walk. For anyone who finds distance, crowds or standing difficult — elderly parents, someone recovering from surgery, anyone with limited mobility — that walk decides whether the trip happens at all. Wheelerz rents wheelchairs inside the mall and puts one — and, if you want one, a trained attendant — at the entrance when you arrive. Here is exactly how it works.
A Wheelerz story
Nani’s Sunday at the mall
Riya wanted to take her grandmother shopping for Diwali, but Nani had not been to the mall in two years — the walk from the parking to the shops was simply too far.
On Saturday night Riya booked a Wheelchair with Attendant for 11 am, meeting at the Parking B2 lift lobby, and paid online in under a minute. On Sunday morning the attendant’s name and number were on her phone before they had even left home.
When the lift doors opened, the chair was waiting. Nani chose her own sari that day, stopped for chai in the food court, and asked Riya when they could come again.
1. Choose with or without an attendant
- Wheelchair with Attendant — someone meets you at your chosen point, pushes the chair, and stays with you: to a particular shop, or roaming the mall with you for as long as you have booked.
- Wheelchair without Attendant — a self-use chair you collect at the Wheelerz desk and use independently.
Whichever you choose, the chair is cleaned and sanitised before it reaches you. Hygiene matters most to the people who need a wheelchair, so every chair is wiped down — seat, armrests and handles — after each guest.
2. Pick your mall and a meeting point
Choose the Wheelerz location you are visiting, then where you would like to be met — the main entrance, a parking lift lobby, the atrium and so on. Rates are set per location, so you see that mall’s price before you pay.
3. Now, or a time that suits you
Book for as soon as possible, or pick a slot up to 30 days ahead within the mall’s opening hours. Advance bookings are paid online when you book, so the chair and the attendant are held for you.
4. Pay, and see who is coming
You pay at booking — online by UPI, card or netbanking through PhonePe, or at the Wheelerz desk for a same-day booking. Once a team member accepts your request you see their name and number, and when they have reached you.
5. Check in, and pay only for the time you use
Billing starts when you check in. The first hour is the minimum; after that you pay for the minutes actually used, so an hour and a quarter bills as 1.25 hours rather than two. If you use it for longer than you booked, the difference is settled at the end.
Good to know: Using a chair on your own? An original Aadhaar card, driving licence or voter ID is held at the desk until you return the chair. We record that it was taken and returned — we never photograph or copy it.
Booking for a parent or a friend?
Choose “Someone else” when you book and enter their name and mobile number. The attendant contacts them directly, and you can follow the request from your own account.
Ready when you are
Book now, or for a time up to 30 days ahead.
